Valentina Marano Obituary

Valentina Dawn (Tina) Marano, 60, of Warren passed away Sunday Evening, January 31, 2021 at her home.  She was born on June 8, 1960 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the daughter of Salvatore A. Marano and Edith (Silvis) Marano.  Tina was a 1978 graduate of Sheffield High School.  She went on to serve her country in the United States Army.  While in the Army she was trained in Geospatial Intelligence Imagery and served in Germany.  She was proud of her service to her country.  She was formerly employed at the Rouse Home of Youngsville and New Process (Blair) of Warren.  She was a member of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church of Sheffield.  Tina was a member of the American Legion Post 135 of Warren.  She relaxed by doing crafts and sci-fi fantasy.

Left behind to cherish Valentina’s memory is her daughter Shala N. McKinney of Sheffield, and her son, Luke A. McKinney of Indianapolis.  One sister, Sarah M. Marano of Sheffield, two brothers Kim (Maria) Marano of Warren, and Delbert Marano of Covington, PA, and three grandchildren Lillian and Violet Jones and Lee Kaylor . She is further survived by her Aunts Gayle Weidner, Rosemary Marano, and Joan Silves (Larry), and one Uncle Larry Silves.  She is lastly survived by her cat Shadow.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 5, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Sheffield with Father Steven Schreiber, church Pastor as celebrant.  Everyone please meet at the church.

Parting prayers will be held at the funeral home for the family only.  Military honors will be presented by the Sheffield VFW post honor guard prior to the mass. Burial will be private.  Please adhere to the state guidelines for social distancing and wearing a mask while attending mass.

Memorial donations in Tina’s memory may be made to the American Legion Post 135 of Warren or the Sheffield VFW Post Honor Guard, Austin Hill Road, Sheffield, PA 16347
