Thomas Patrick Steffan, passed away unexpectedly at his residence, December 22, 2024. He was born March 17, 1958, to the late George Gundy Steffan and Joann (McAvoy) Steffan.
Tom was a lifelong resident of the Sheffield/Barnes area. Tom graduated from Indiana University of Pa with a Criminal Justice degree. He was employed as a counselor at the Abraxis facility in Marienville, where he was influential in the lives of many juveniles.
Tom was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed motorcycling. He was extremely generous to those in need, always helping with chores or providing transportation. He was a true friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family and the community of Sheffield.
Left behind to cherish Tom’s memory are his longtime girlfriend, Linda Brush of Brookfield, a sister Sally Steffan Blum of Cleveland, OH, a niece, Chelsea Blum of Philadelphia, PA, and a nephew Garrett Blum, of Sugar Grove, PA.
In addition to his parents, he is deceased in death by an infant brother Daniel.
A memorial service will be held on January 25, 2025. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sheffield United Methodist Church, 11 W. Main Street, Sheffield, PA. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ruth Ann Varotto, presiding. A luncheon will follow the service.
