Patricia Straziser

Patricia Jean Straziser, 83, a lifelong resident of Sheffield, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening September 2, 2023, at Warren General Hospital.  She was born in Nebraska, Pa on August 26, 1940, the daughter of Samuel Griffith and Deveda (Felton) Griffith.  She was a graduate of Sheffield High School.  She gained employment at Blue Stem (New Process) in Warren, PA

Patty was devoted to her family and she was a faithful friend.  She was always willing to help whenever she saw a need.  She regularly gave of her time to volunteer at the Thrift Shop; she would help at the senior center passing out Thanksgiving meals and she was very active in the lives of her four grandchildren.  She was dearly loved by each of them, and their mother and she is already sadly missed.  She definitely had a servant’s heart, and she was generous even beyond her means.  Without hesitation, she would give up something that she wanted just to be able to give it to someone else.  She attended Stoneham Methodist Church as well as Praise Felllowship in Russell, PA, and the love of Jesus was evident in her life.  Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that they can see her again one day thanks to the free gift of salvation made possible through Jesus and His loving sacrifice for us.

Left behind to cherish Patty’s memory are her son Duane Straziser of Sheffield, her grandchildren Ainsley, Brynley and Bryson Straziser and Maria Peterman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, her brothers Robert and Eddie Griffith and Herbert D. Strazier and a sister, Crystal Straziser.

There will be no public calling hours observed.  The public is welcome to attend a graveside memorial service which will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sheffield Cemetery.  Pastor Ruth Ann Varrato will preside.  The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Sheffield Thrift Store, PO Box 721, Sheffield, PA  16347.
