Michael Alan Childs

Michael Alan Childs, 62, of Sheffield, Pa, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2025, at Warren General Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on March 11, 1963, in Warren, Pa, the son of the late Larry Childs and Irene (Dunn) Childs.

Michael was Protestant by faith.  In his pastime he enjoyed drawing and coloring.  He loved collecting anything associated with the Native American culture.  He especially enjoyed going to the Sheffield Library to find books on Indians.  Michael was an animal lover enjoying dogs the most.  In his younger years, he enjoyed dressing up for Halloween. 

Michael will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his fellow friends and staff members.  Even through Michael’s lifelong challenges, he always greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. He preserved until the end.

Left behind to cherish Michael’s memory are his siblings, Kevin Childs (Kim) of Youngsville, PA, Timothy Childs (Marina) of St. Marys, PA, Scott Childs of Russell, PA, Jamie Childs (Jessica) of Warren, PA, and Larry Childs, Jr. (Christina) of Ackley, PA.  He is further survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lori Childs. 

Micheal’s family will welcome friends from 2 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Borden Funeral Home, 203 West Main Street, Sheffield, Pa.  Funeral services will follow at 3 pm at the funeral home with Pastor, Mark Schwanke, presiding.  Burial will take place at the Barnes Cemetery.
