Merle Walter Anderson, 85, of Sheffield passed away early Monday morning August 26, 2019 in Warren. He was born in Warren on December 15, 1933 to Carl Anderson and Martha Jane (Barber) Anderson. He was a 1953 graduate of Sheffield High School. Merle lived his entire life in Sheffield. He retired from Sylvania as a laborer. He was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church, as well as the Sheffield V.F.W., the Eagles, and the N.R.A. he enjoyed feeding the birds, going to the casino, and especially loved to sing, the late Elvis being his favorite. Above all Merle enjoyed spending time with his faithful companion “Dino”. They spent many happy years together. Leaving behind to cherish his memory are two sons, Donald M. Anderson of Warren and Bryan C. Anderson of Buffalo, New York, and two daughters, Lou Ann D. Timmons of Warren and Susan E. Hanson of Warren, and also eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbra Jean (Fugate) Anderson, and one brother Robert C. Anderson. Merle’s family will welcome family and friends on Thursday August 29, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Sheffield United Methodist Church. Also, on Friday August 30, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at the church with church Pastor Douglas Brink officiating. Burial will take place at the Sheffield Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Merle’s memory to Paws Along the River, 212 Elm Street Warren, PA. 16365.
