Matthew Miko

Matthew Robert Miko, 52 of Warren formerly of Sheffield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning,, November 8, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 20, 1969 in Warren, the son of Robert Andrew Miko and Maryann Helen (Lugar) Miko. Matt was a 1987 graduate of Sheffield High School. He gained employment at the Ellwood Forge as an assembler inspector until present. He was Catholic, Byzantine Rite by faith. Earlier on he enjoyed hunting & fishing. He was a Penn State University Football fan and loved his Cleveland Browns. Matt would relax by listening to hard rock and jazz music. He was an avid Frank Sinatra fan.

Left behind to cherish Matthew’s memory are his father and mother Robert A. and Maryann H Miko of Sheffield, his girlfriend Barb Myers, two daughters, Hannah Miko, Kayla Barber and husband Kevin Barber and their mother Michele Miko, one brother Steve Miko and wife Patti Miko,  one sister Sarah Miko and one grandchild Althea Rose Barber, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his faithful furry companion Ollie.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Matthew & Anna Lugar, also his paternal grandparents, Andrew & Maryann Miko, his uncles George Miko and John Miko and an aunt and uncle Joe & Rosalie Pretko.

                Matthew’s family will welcome family and friends on Thursday November 11, 2021, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield. Blessing Services will follow at 2 pm at the Funeral Home with Father David Bosnich of St. Michaels Catholic Church Byzantine Rite presiding. Committal and Burial will follow at the St. Michaels Cemetery in Sheffield.
