Mary Grubbs

Mary L. Grubbs, 75, a lifelong resident of the Sheffield, PA area passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville, PA.  She was born in Lynch, PA on April 4, 1948, a daughter of Adam Spencer and Grace Spencer.  Mary will be remembered as a homemaker who enjoyed spending time and helping her family and friends.  She would help anyone who needed something from changing the oil in a car to sewing a patch on a pair of jeans.  When they say those who have the least give more, that would be Mary.  She loved animals, she had a big heart when it came to the stray animals in the area.  She especially loved her adopted dog Jersey.  She was a lifetime member of the Sheffield VFW Auxiliary. 

Left behind to cherish Mary’s memory are her three children, Melissa Rockwell, Richard (Jeri Sue) & John Grubbs, her grandchildren, Keisha (Daniel), Cody (Amber), David (Lance), Zoe; her great grandchildren, Brylee, Aleia, Daniel, Emma, Leo and Starr; a brother, Jack Spencer and her sisters, Sue Jensen, Jane Harriger, Kathy Shaffer and Marg Lewis.  She is further survived by her faithful companion Jersey.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her companion James Alderson, three brothers: James, Robert and Richard Spencer and a sister, June Miller

There will be no public calling hours or services observed.  Private Family Services were held at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA.  The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made in Mary’s memory to Paws Along the River, 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA 16365 or Sheffield Area Food Pantry, PO Box 721, Sheffield, PA  16347.  To leave an online condolence for Mary L.
