Linda Goldthwaite Obituary

Linda Goldthwaite, 78 of Sheffield passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021 at UPMC Kane Hospital.  She was born May 10, 1943 in Rochester, New York.  The daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Clara (Zepp) Lee, she was a 1961 graduate of Sheffield High School and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo, New York.

 

As a long time Sheffield resident, Linda served as Tax Collector for Sheffield Township for over fifteen years.  She was a devoted member of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church of Sheffield.  She served as a Eucharistic Minister, was in charge of the Altar Servers as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.  In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing or going bowling.  She also enjoyed going to Dinner Group with her friends.

 

She married Joseph Goldthwaite, Sr. on April 10, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Warren.  Above all else her grandchildren were the spark in her eye.  Linda always had a pleasant smile.  She will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, especially the people of the Sheffield community.

 

Left behind to cherish Linda’s memory are her sons Joseph Goldthwaite, Jr., and his wife Kellie of Russell, as well as Robert Goldthwaite and his wife Danielle of Sheffield; a brother Raymond Lee, Jr. of Jamestown, New York; seven grandchildren Austin Goldthwaite and fiancé Mercedes Grandinetti, Hunter, Ian, Alexis, Makenna, Audree and Maela Goldthwaite; two great grandchildren, Lilly and Amelia Goldthwaite.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Goldthwaite, Sr., on December 22, 2014.

 

Linda’s family will welcome family and friends on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Sheffield with Father Stephen Schreiber as Celebrant.  (Everyone please meet at the church).  Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Sheffield.  The wearing of masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged at all services.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
