Helen K. Galbraith 93, formally of Sheffield passed away Thursday morning April 16, 2020 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville. Mrs. Galbraith was born on June 26, 1926 in Titusville to James Willis & Laura (Lynch) Willis. She completed her education in Sanford, PA. Helen was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church. She was retired from Warren State Hospital as well as a long time waitress. Helen took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens and would share her bounty with anyone. In her pass time she enjoyed old time country music. In 1959 Helen experienced a near death encounter on Route 666 as she drove into a flooded roadway and came very close to being swept away by high water; as a result she spent many hours on the roof of her automobile. But by god’s grace she was rescued by Sheffield Vol. Fire Dept. Left behind to cherish Helen’s memory are: her son David L. (Judy) Dunham of Sheffield, 2 daughters Mary J. Reeder of Bradenton, FL, Kathy M. (George) Nelson of Youngsville, 8 Grandchildren; Lisa (Dunham) Jones, Jeffrey Dunham, Gregory Dunham, Connie McKiernam, Eric Nelson, Wendy Kniese, Alicia Stull and Wesley Nelson, also by 15 Great Grandchildren and 8 great great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 son Clyde L. (Pete) Dunham JR. and by her husband’s Clyde L. Dunham SR. and William Galbraith.
There was no public calling hours. Private graveside committal and burial was held Friday April 17, 2020 at the Sheffield Cemetery the Rev. Douglas Brink officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield.
