Gwenda A. Cole, 81, a lifelong resident of Cherry Grove, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, at the Hospice of Warren County Hospice House in Warren. She was born on June 20, 1943 in Cherry Grove at her homestead. The daughter of the late William Earl McCulla and Arrial Anna McCulla. Gwenda attended Sheffield High School. She gained employment at the Interlectric Company. She was a lifetime member of the Cherry Grove Free Methodist Church. Easter was her favorite holiday, a time for new beginnings and that spring was soon approaching then Gwenda could enjoy gardening, planting, vegetables, and flowers so she could share her bounty with family, neighbors, and friends. She loved word search puzzles but especially looked forward to the time she spent with her family.
Left behind to cherish Gwenda’s memory are her sons: Donald (Amy) Cole, Jr. of North Carolina, Larry Cole of Warren, PA, her brothers, William McCulla and Robert McCulla; grandchildren Chris Cole, DeVin Cole, Josh Ace, Kyle Fiero, Chantelle Fiero (Kyle) Coons as well as two great grandchildren: James Cole & Carmon Ace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Cole, Sr. in 1999, her daughter Tina Fiero on July 31, 2023, and her sisters: Wilma Geer, Ethel Gregerson, Doris Ferri, Ruth Virley, Ann Ward and two brothers, David Miles and Charles McCulla.
Gwenda’s family will welcome friends on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ruth Ann Varrato presiding. Committal and Burial will follow at the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
