Ernest "Ernie" Anundson Howe, 72, passed away on April 10, 2023, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Ernie was born on July 27, 1950, in Buffalo, New York, to George E Howe, Jr and Alphilda Howe. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ernie is survived by his brother, George E Howe III, and nephew George E Howe IV presently living in Texas.
Ernie was a fierce patriot and unique guy. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the Army and was very proud of his military service. Ernie attended Alfred University for higher education. He was a professional truck driver, and he enjoyed driving all around the United States.
Ernie was a kind-hearted person who loved animals. In fact, if a stray cat or dog found their way to his doorstep, he took them in and made sure they were well loved. Many fellow truckers may have memories of his guard dog, Bear!
Family and Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service with full military honors accorded by the Sheffield VFW Honor Guard to be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA
