Edward Shall Obituary

 

Edward L (Eddie) Shall, 77, Foulkrod Street, Sheffield,PA passed away Thursday morning May 16, 2019 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born September 11, 1941 in Blue Jay, PA to Hiram A. and Mary R. Shall. He was a 1960 graduate of Sheffield High School. He served our country in the United States Army from 1964 -1966 during the Vietnam War as a Private First Class and Radio Operator. He retired from Betts Industry as a Weld Supervisor, he was known as Steady Eddie by his fellow workers. He was a member of many organizations where he spent countless hours serving others. He was a member of the American Legion Post 503, the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club and will be remembered by many for his contributions as a member of the Sheffield VFW Post 8755, where he was Past Commander and a Lifetime Member. He proudly served as a member of the VFW Honor Guard. He will fill the lives he touched with great sadness especially his family and his buddies at the VFW. He survived by his son, Dwayne Shall of McKees Rocks, PA, two granddaughters Sarah Nichole Arnold of Warren, and Shaylyn Tia Shall of McKees Rocks, and his sister Kathy Schrecengost of Mt. Jewett, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Kenneth, Joseph, and James Shall, a brother-in-law Joseph along with his nephew and niece Dean and Donna Schrecengost. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, May 22 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield. Funeral services will be held at the Borden Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23 at 11 am, with Douglas Brink of Sheffield United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Sheffield VFW Honor Guard Post 8755 will be conducted at the Sheffield Cemetery.
