Douglas Matthew Stanko

Douglas M. Stanko 59, of Sheffield passed away on Thursday afternoon August 22, 2019 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on January 13, 1960 in Warren, PA to Andrew Stanko and Margaret (May) Taylor Stanko. Doug graduated from Sheffield High School in 1978 and then graduated from Vale Technical Institute. He owned and operated Stanko’s Autobody in Sheffield , his true passion was working on vehicles, he was meticulous, and was often referred to as a master auto body man. Doug lived his entire life in Sheffield, he was a member of the Sheffield Rotary, as well as owned his own bowling team “Stanko’s AutoBody”. Some of his past times included watching the Pittsburgh Pirates , as well as the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed getting away to his camp the “Fern Gully” and especially enjoyed taking a nice ride on his motorcycles. Above all else Doug’s Family was most important to him the times they spent together will be forever remembered. Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his son Drew Stanko (Laura Morris) of North Carolina, his daughter Brooke Stanko Glienna also of North Carolina, a brother Dave Stanko of Tiona, a sister Deloris Curry of Garland, also by three grandchildren Zoccara Davis, Malachi Stanko, and Vincent Stanko, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Doug’s family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday August 27, 2019 from 24pm and 68pm at the Sheffield United Methodist Church in Sheffield. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday August 28, 2019 from 1011am with services to follow at 11am at the church with Pastor Douglas Brink officiating. Burial will be private.
