Dennis Shaver Obituary

Dennis A. (Pete) Shaver, 78, a longtime Sheffield resident passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 21, 2024, at Kinzua Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Warren, PA. He was born in Warren, PA on May 14, 1945, the son of the late Frank Shaver and Ruth (Barnes) Shaver. Denny was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School. He married the love of his life Mary Kay (Laih) on December 23, 1965, at the former St. Clara’s Roman Catholic Church in Clarendon. Denny went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. After returning home, he was employed as a welder, retiring from the Struthers Wells Company. Denny was a quiet man who enjoyed the company of others. He was a life member of the Clarendon VFW, as well as a long-time member of the Sheffield Rod & Gun Club. Denny will be greatly missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him, especially his wife, his daughter and son-in-law and very special friends and neighbors.

Left behind to cherish Denny’s memory are his wife of 58 years, Mary Kay Shaver, at home; his daughter Kelly and husband Bill Martin of Warren; and a brother Steven Shaver and wife Pam of Warren. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Susan Littlefield, and a brother David Shaver.

Denny’s family will welcome family and friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ruth Ann Varrato presiding. Military Honors will be accorded by the Sheffield VFW Honor Guard. Burial will be private.
