Dennis Ackley

Dennis Paul Ackley, 75, a lifelong resident of Kane, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022, at UPMC Seneca Hospital.  He was born on May 11, 1947, in Kane.  The son of the late Lyle Ackley and Irene (Davis) Ackley, Dennis was a 1965 graduate of Kane High School and furthered his education by obtaining an Associates of Applied Science Degree.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1969, earning the rank of Sergeant.   He gained employment at the Warren State Hospital as a carpenter.  In his spare time, he enjoyed being out in nature, going hunting, fishing and camping.  One of his favorite pastimes was relaxing and doing numerous crossword puzzles at one time.  Above everything, Dennis was a family man.  He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish Dennis’s Memory are his daughters: Trina Thomas of Madison, Ohio and Michelle Borris (husband Ed) of Rock Creek, Ohio, as well as his son: Shane Ackley of Kane, PA; his grandchildren: Kyle Miller, Ashley Elliot, Dakota Thomas, Mike Park, Logan, Brayden and Alexis Borris, Shyley, Shane and Sami Ackley.  He is further survived by several great grandchildren, as well as his sister, Kathy Grundstrom (husband Rick) of Kane, PA.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Ginger, and his brothers Larry, Terry, Bob and Jim.

Private family visitation was held Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield.  Burial is private.
