Charles Edward Crooks, 79, of Mill Street in Sheffield passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
He was born on February 8, 1940, in Kinzua, Warren County on his family farm to Boyd Crooks Sr. and Edna (Bennett) Crooks. In his younger years, he enjoyed going hunting, but his passion was running heavy equipment. He enjoyed taking things apart, and the challenge of putting them back together. One could say that he was a master tinkerer.
Those surviving to cherish his memory are: his wife, Rebecca A Crooks, at home; his sons Scott Crooks, of Karns City and Charles Crooks of Sheffield; three granddaughters, Gretchen, Misty, and Samantha; one grandson, Charles E. Crooks and his wife Victoria; two brothers, James Crooks of North Carolina, and Tom Crooks of New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Lisa Ann Fitsgerald, and by several brothers and sisters.
At the request of Mr. Crooks, there will be no calling hours or services. The Borden Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements
