Dean Wesley Lewis, 90, of Barnes passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 where he had lived for the past 63 years. He was born in Brookston on October 7, 1928 and was the son of the late Harry and Lois Lewis and Nancy and George Black. Dean was proudly raised by his grandparents from the age of 13 months. He completed the 12 grade with Honors and was Historian of his class. He married his wife Margaret (Johnson) on November 28, 1953 and they were blessed with 65 years together. He retired as a mechanic from Crossett Inc. in 1991. He was a member of the Barnes United Methodist Church and a life member of the Sheffield Rod & Gun Club where he faithfully worked at their chicken barbeques each Memorial and Labor Day. He was a former member of the Sheffield Vol. Fire Dept. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. Dean is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons Michael Dean Lewis of Denver, CO and Dean Wesley Lewis Jr. and wife Michele of Wrightsville, PA and three daughters Leslie Lynn Lewis of Warren, PA, Cynthia Ann Studer and her husband Wayne of Barnes, PA, and Barbara Lynne Nearing and her husband Eric of Englewood, OH. He is also survived by one brother, Leslie Lewis of Barnes. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles Lewis and Lester Lewis, two sisters, Louise Geib and Margaret Bloss, and one granddaughter, Samantha Lewis. The family will receive family and friends on Friday March 22, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm at the Borden Funeral Home Sheffield, PA. On Saturday March 23, 2019 there will be a one hour visitation from 10am to 11am at the Sheffield United Methodist Church where services will follow at 11am with Pastor Douglas Brink officiating. Burial will be private at Warren County Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie Koza for the wonderful care she gave to Mr. Lewis.
