Richard H. (Dick) Leasure, 84, a long time Sheffield area resident passed away peacefully the morning of May 12, 2022, at Cambridge of Warren. He was born on August 21, 1937, in Smithfield, West Virginia, the son of the late Elias Leasure and Letha (Cain) Leasure. Dick honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He married Ann Marie (Peroski) on February 19, 1966. Together they raised two children. In Dick’s younger years, he was employed at the cable company in Sheffield. He began his career with United Refining and retired as a foreman with well over 30 years of service. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was well known in Sheffield for raising peaches and cherries. He took great pride in tending to the trees.
Left behind to cherish Dick’s memory are his daughter Sonja Miller, husband Dave, of Warren, Pennsylvania; his son Father Mark Leasure and wife Bev of Scranton, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren Kyra and Adam. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann Marie (Peroski) Leasure in 2016, and one brother, Elias Leasure, Jr.
Richard’s family will welcome family and friends on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield, Pennsylvania. A Parastas Service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Father David Bosnich of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church presiding.
Full military honors will be accorded by the Sheffield, Clarendon, and Warren VFWs at the St. Michael’s Cemetery where burial will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Warren County.
